We started in Labradors in Australia in 1967 originally in Obedience, our first dog was Kentline Baskerton, ex Candlemass Butterscotch and our second dog was Kanyanya Prince d'Or who went on to become our first Champion in Malaysia and Singapore. Both dogs obtained their Obedience title in Australia, and we were both registered with the Australian Kennel Club as Instructors and Judges for Obedience.
In 1974 we returned to the UK and bought in Brentville Marcella at Lawnwoods and Lawnwoods Hot Pants at Warringah, these two bitches were the foundation of the Warringah Kennel, and every Warringah Labrador descends from them.
We made up our first Champion in in the UK in 1983 Sh Ch Warringah's Hot Favourite and she has been followed by another 21 Champions of which 18 have been full Champions (meaning they have gained their certificates for work in the field). We have gained over 100 Kennel Club Challenge Certificates in Labradors with another 34 Challenge Certificates gained with our Sussex Spaniels and German Shorthaired Pointers over the years.
We are now set in the glorious Herefordshire countryside, conveniently next door to several shoots for the dogs and their owner to be kept busy during the winter months, we are not a big kennel, down to 8 adult Labradors at present, and over the years we have averaged 2 litters per year.
It has always been our aim to produce sound healthy dogs that conform to the Breed standard and have superb temperaments, and we test for all the recommended breed health requirements.
Both of us are Championship Show Judges and have had the honour to judge our breed at Crufts, Carole in 2000 an David in 2011.
Warringah was the first Labrador kennel in the UK to be awarded the Kennel Club Assured Breeders Accolade of Excellence.
